Thanks to the loyal and continuous commitment of our customers in- and outside the projector industry, Celinius celebrates its ten's anniversary in Taiwan successfully providing sourcing and design-in support for numerous overseas partners with diverse background.

 

Customized components

More and more companies take advantage to access Taiwan's innovative competitive industrial base that includes a diverse metal industry. The commonly applied processes for metal components sold by Celinius include extrusion, die-casting, punch and bending, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and laser cutting.

After forming, Celinius also offers surface treatment, such as electro and barrel plating, painting and sputtering processes. Due to readily available capacity for mold and die design dedicated tooling's that allow processes with fewer manufacturing steps are usually preferred to achieve top quality at competitive cost.

A comparative research was conducted by Celinius comparing manufacturing methods by applying semi-finished tool sets, as they are common in Europe and comprehensive tools used in Taiwan. The cost based threshold is usually achieved at quantities of 1000 to 3000 pieces depending on complexity and overall dimensions of the manufactured component.

A truly underestimated benefit of manufacturing in Taiwan is the well advanced machinery industry that provides a wide spectrum of custom tools including state-of-the-art injection machines that are generally used at partner facilities of Celinius. In conjunction with compelling price regarding molds, European medium-sized companies are invited to take advantage of Taiwan's niche through Celinius.

The strong position of Taiwan manufacturers' originates from reasonable machinery cost combined with one of the lowest electricity cost in the world and highly skilled mold design. The ease of communication through Celinius with our loyal and honorable customers has enabled us to rapidly expand this business line outside Taiwan.

LED opportunities

In December 2007, the Taiwanese government announced the "Energy Saving Promotion Project for Lighting" with objectives to replace all incandescent light bulbs with energy-saving light bulbs within a short period of time and, in the long run, to replace traditional lighting with LED lights for better energy-saving performance. Thanks to this promotion and the application of this technology in the flat panel industry, a surge of small- and medium-sized enterprises in Taiwan as a result of this policy incentive. During our recent projects we were able to identify our highly competitive coating supplier who allows us to achieve reflectivity above 85% on curved injection molded parts. Besides the illumination technology itself recently introduced high power LEDs lead to the demand of sophisticated driver technology that is capable to provide high and accurate current. Switch-mode power supplies whether or not they are used to drive LEDs always require inductive components, such as chokes and transformers. These components are customized to the individual design regarding technical as well as regulatory requirements.  Especially our customer and supplier Hansmann electronic GmbH & Co. KG, whose products we proudly distribute all over Asia, frequently employs this sourcing service.

Thanks to our close relation with a well-established network of professional manufacturers we are able to supply a wide variety of components and assemblies to numerous customers outside Greater China. Especially one of our early customers Seis Akustik just recently introduced two new products that were only made possible by the contribution of our specialized partners in the acoustic field.

Ten years in this industry is a milestone itself in East Asia; we are looking forward to the next decade and beyond.
