Electronic Ballasts for High Pressure Discharge Lamps

Products support the power range from 35W to 2400W.

Both AC- and DC-Xenon as well as Mercury lamps are supported. It is recommended to combine the products with lamps from OSRAM, however Ushio-lamps and products from other vendors can also be operated with the products. When choosing a ballast or lampdriver, both the power rating as well as the current rating must be considered. Some ballasts include the igniter, others require an external igniter and some products have both options. The required igniter is mentioned on the relevant product page.

Ballasts

Ballasts are electronic lampdrivers with integrated power supply and can therefore be operated on normal mains plugsof the public power grid. In order to incorporate ballasts in larger systems, 380V-outputs and fan terminals are also available on board.

Lampdrivers are designed as subsystems in various equipments. The input is a DC-connection with 300 to 380V. In order to utilize lampdrivers, according power supplies are required to provide the 300-380V output.

Igniters

Igniters provide the initial spark voltage of 5kV-30kV to ignite the lamp. After ignition, the lamp current is relayed through the igniter.

Power Supplies

Power Supplies provide the 380V output required for the lamp drivers. There are two versions available, one for up to 300W and one for 1000W. The maximum power depends on the minimum mains voltage that is going to be applied.
